The Craft

The hands behind the wine, from the fields of Malwa to cellars shaped by European tradition.

A wine is made twice: once in the field, once in the cellar.

In the field, the cultivators of Punjab, heirs to generations of mastery over this land, tend every vine by hand. No herbicides, no pesticides, no fungicides, no synthetic fertiliser. Weeds are managed mechanically; fertility comes from compost, green manure and cover crops; the fruit is picked and sorted by hand at peak ripeness.

The cellar

In the cellar, the house works with winemakers from France, Italy and Portugal: palates and technique formed by centuries of European tradition, applied to an origin no one has tasted before. Gentle handling, minimal intervention, nothing synthetic, in pursuit of structure, freshness and length, in the classical style.

The house, Pal Vineyards was founded by Lavjit Sra in memory of his father, and is run between Dubai, London and Punjab. Small batches. No published prices. By allocation only.
